Course overview

Organisations around the world are facing increasing pressure to manage their records according to statutory and business requirements. 

The deployment of electronic document and records management systems continue to increase, and the need to transfer and share records over the Internet without compromising their security and integrity is paramount. 

Course objectives

At the end of this training participants will be able to; 

  • Understand the relationships and interdependencies between paper and electronic records that must be considered when developing and managing records management systems
  • Effectively carry out inventory for paper based and electronic records and use it to evaluate information holdings
  • Appreciate the value of a functional classification system for superior records management
  • Develop policies and procedures for managing E-records and know ways to manage program information to document actions and mitigate risk
  • Develop a retention schedule for paper and electronic records and the legal implications of the same.
